Notes for JOHN WEST:
[Stan.FTW]
He was a farmer, cooper and the owner of gist mills and a lot of land in C raven County. He was into Agriculture, Turpentine, Barrel Manufacturing. He was 51 years of age at the time of the Revolutionary War.
Per Charles Goochee-Ivey Family Gen Forum #1322, John West's will is in C raven County and lists Daniel West and Robert Ivy as witnesses, and mentions Robert as the husband of John's daughter Elizabeth. He also states th at " in the Craven County General Index to Deeds and Mortgages from 17 39 to 1912, there is no references to Ivey or Ivy before 1800. There are numerous references to the West family ( about 10 pages, including references to Daniel West, John West, Elizabeth West and James West). He believes this information suggest that Robert Ivey may have been from a family outside Craven County, N.C.

This appears to be a deathbed will, as it is not signed by John West. The re also appears to be a feeling of haste about the will. The will confirms that John West's daughter is married to Robert Ivy. Daniel West signs his name, "Danl", which is the same spelling which appeared by one of the witnessess of the marriage of Elizabeth West to Robert Ivey.
John West identifies seven children, but does not mention a wife:
Elizabeth West Ivy, wife of Robert Ivy
Sally West Stanley
Nancy West (then unmarried)
James West

Notes for TIMOTHY LEARY STANLEY:
Source: The Heritage of Houston COunty, Georgia 1821-2001:
Leary moved to Houston County in 1827 or 1828, settling in the lower 11 th District. He farmed there for nearly thirty years before selling and moving to Lowndes County, Georgia. He moved there about 1856-57, bought and cleared land for his farm, and built his home about four miles north of Quitman. In December 1858, his land was cut from Lowndes County in to the new Brooks County. Leary died at home 6 December 1864. Charity died 28 April 1878. They are both Buried at Hickory Head Baptist Church south of Quitman, Georgia.
Found on the 1830 & 1840 Houston census:
Leary can be found on several land deeds in Houston County. One deed dated 2-15-1839 drew attention. He was representing the estate of Edward Jones on this deed, however the deed was witnessed by G.W. Harrison, J.I.C. 2 -16-1839 of Randolph County, Georgia. This shows that the Stanley family and the Harrison family were in touch with each other!
