The names we are researching are: BANGERT, CINNAUGHT, DIESEL, DILLON, FRIERDICH, HATTER (HOERTER), LEATHCO (LEATHER, LETHCO), MEES, MICHAEL (MICHALEK), RATTON, REIS, SCHALLOM, SCHRAMM, STALEY, STEPPIG, WEBER My father, Ronald Russell Phillip Frierdich is the child of Roy Phillip Frierdich & Fern Louisa Hatter(Hoerter). Roy is the c of Otto Frierdich & Mary Schallom; Mary is c of Charles Schallom & Catherine Frierdich; Charles Schallom is c of John & Maria Weiss Schallom who originally came from what is now Czech Rep. Other children of John & Maria (1819-1892?): Josephine (Schroeder), Wenzel (Annie Hunning), George (Amie Flatman), CHARLES (CATHERINE FRIERDICH)and one other unknown son. CHARLES & CATHERINE SCHALLOM's c: Louise (Henry Heck), Wenzel (Katherine Herschenroeder), George (Mary Goadicke), Charles, Katherine (Herman Hoelscher), MARY (OTTO FRIERDICH), Peter (Carolyn Donnehold), Agnes (Henry Hagemann), Catherine, George (Katherine Ruff), Peter (Barbara Frank), and Sylvie. MARY & OTTO had 3 children: Roy (FERN HATTER), Pearl (Charles Grueninger), Roland (Edna Heffer). ROY FRIERDICH & FERN HATTER (HOETER) had two sons, Royce and Ronald. RONALD is my father, m Veronica Mary Michael. On my mother's side, I have traced it thus far: her father: John Henry Michael, c of Joseph (Michalek) Michael & Cornelia Ellen Dillon. Joseph c of Anthony Michalek & Magdalen Schramm - siblings of Joseph are Louisa & another brothe, no name. He stowed away at age 14(?) in 1864 from Austria under visitor's pass issued by Franz Joseph I. He hid under name of Finch (lady befriended him on the boat) because he was afraid of German government would put him in the army. Cornelia Ellen Dillon (Joseph Michalek's wife) was c of Michael Dillon & Mary Cinnaught of KY. Said that Mary was a steeplechaser and related to Dowager Queen Mary of England. Michael dillon fought in Civil War and history books say he caught Gen. Grant when he fell from his horse after being shot. Joseph & Cornelia Dillon Michalek had 6 children: Nell Juengling, John Henry (my gfather), William, Joseph, Hazel (Luck), and Mame (Miller). John Henry m. Mary Agnes Steppig - c of Josephine Sophia Mees and Louis Steppig. Louis Steppig c of Michael and Appolonia Hoock Steppig and farmed in Columbia, IL and ran Steppig Fishing Lakes in Columbia. Six children: Louis, Jr., Mary Agnes (went by Edna Agatha), Emund, Irvin, Albert & August. Sophia Mees c of Mary Reis and Peter Mees (both born in Germany) had 13 children, some being Louis, Josephine (Sophia), tillie, Kate, Carrie, Peter & Herman.
