1820 "Migrated to Gwinnett Co., Ga where they bought land, built a home and produced a successful crop that first year, due to Georgia's rich farm land, mild climate and long growing season. Also Richard Sanford Meyer Stanfield was born on November 16, 1820."

(Personal Note:Robert would be the right age to be the father of William P and Benjamin F Stanfield)
Most likely died in Murray Co., Ga. However, possibly buried without a STONE in Woodstation Cemetery, orginally called Bethel Church ( Methodist ) Cemetery (as described by descendants who have seen the stones and heard the story)
One story, by Emily Ivey [email protected], is Bethena and Robert were 16 years of age when they moved to Gwinnette Co., Ga from SC.A year later Richard SM was born, which would be 1820, not 1828 as the 1850 census states. The story is that Richard was born and some 12 years later a Sister named Willia, not a brother as on census shows, was born, maybe sister died, and next year had a son and named him Willis. But if you use the fact of Richard SM 's tombstone, you will see it say, date of birth 1820, not 1828, could be wrong. But, the story is told that Richard was first child and it was 12 years before the second was born.(Emily Ivey disputes Benjamin F. and William P. are sons of Richard J. Stanfield. Researching)
The Stanfield's and the Williams married, all were Methodist and years later some began to become Baptist Episcopalian.Possibly the Meyer Family would have been Lutheran since they were German in descent.
