Notes for T
HOMAS THORNTON HULL:
Personal correspondence from Harold L. Shaw lists the birth date of Thomas Thornton Hull as 11 (or 12) March , 1812.

William E. Hull, in his book "Hull Families in the US" give the below census data on page 11 of his book. It appears that the first name John T. Hull was meant to be Thomas Thornton Hull; and that the birth dates of some of the children may be incorrect as Thomas Thornton Hull and Elizabeth Sims married in 1847 according to his book.

Thomas Thornton Hull. Micro Census film of Cobb County Georgia for 1850 indicates that the family at that time consisted of:
John T. Hull, 38 m. farmer 10000. born in Georgia
Elizabeth Hull, 33, f., born in Georgia
Susie Hull, 16 f. born in Georgia
Joseph Hull, 14, m born in Georgia
Julia Hull, 12 f born in Georgia
Downs Hull, 10,m, born in Georgia
Mark T. Hull, 8, m., born in Georgia
Samuel Hull, 6, m, born in Georgia
Ansell Hull, 4 m., born in Georgia

by 1870, several of these children had departed from the home, probably married, and three others had been added:

William Hull born in 1848
Lucinda Hull born in 1851
Harbin (called Harb or Harbie) born 1852.

From a "Historical Genealogy On The Ancestry of Wiliam Benjamin Hull and Emily Harriett Watson Hull and Related Lines", by Dorothy Hull Shaw and Harold L. Shaw, July 1989: to be written about in the future:

Thomas T. Hull who had 12 children and lived in Cobb Co., GA. Simeon B. Hull documented some information about these.

Notes for E
LIZABETH? SIMS:
Nickname: Louisa (may have been her formal name as well).

Notes from Phyllis Oliver Abbott, March 1999:
There seems to be some evidence that Louisa's father was a George Sims who died in Henry County, Georgia. George's will mentions sons (and executors) Mark and Harbird Sims. Louisa and Thomas Thornton Hull named two of their children Mark and Harbird. Thomas and Louisa also had a neighbor and co-owner of land, Mark Sims who was probably Louisa's brother. There is also an unpublished manuscript of the descendants of Nathan Sims that reportedly names George Sims as the son of Nathan Sims and Louisa and Mark as being among the children of George Sims.

Louisa was about 92 years old when she applied for her widow's pension from Thomas Thornton Hull's service in the Indian Wars - although chances are she didn't live too much longer. Louisa definitely died after 1902.

Phyllis Oliver Abbott determined that Thomas Thornton Hull only had one wife whose name must have been either Elizabeth Louisa or Louisa Elizabeth but she went by the name Louisa. She was finally convinced that there was only one wife when she discovered that Louisa had filed for a war pension as Thomas T. Hull's widow. She sent to Washington and received a copy of the whole file. It is rather long with a number of pages because she had to submit affidavits from friends who knew her and Thomas and knew the facts of their marriage. She had to prove that she was his only wife and that she was entitled to the pension as his surviving widow.
