12. MATTHEW M.2 WILKINS (WILLIAM1)24 was born 22 May 1829 in Barbour Co., Alabama, and died Aft. 1879 in (See Notes: Panola Co Census) Batesville, Panola Co. MS. He married (1) MARY ANN SUMRALL 1858. She was born 1836 in AL, and died Unknown. He married (2) MARY DURDEN Abt. 1867. She was born in Florida, and died Unknown.

Matthew Wilkins: 8th son of William Wilkins, Sr.

This is much the same kind of a case as Weldon Wilkins and while we can dispose of his youngest son by death and burial, we are unable to give anything like an intelligent account of his numerous family. But as in the preceding case (Weldon Wilkins), we gave all we have and that is the best we can do.

Matthew died at Batesville, Miss. , August 5, 1878 and was buried in the Batesville cemetery, not far from the spot of his aged father, who was laid to rest in the north end of the same cemetery, May 30, 1871.
