Samuel Wilkins was the son of William Wilkins, Sr. and Catharine WELDON Wilkins. He was born between 1823-1825 in Barbour Co., AL. He married Obedience (see her photo also - Maiden name unknown). He died in Oletha, TX Jan 9, 1923. Their chidren were William Taylor Wilkins (my great grandfather), Eli C. Wilkins, Elizabeth L. Wilkins Dean, and Margaret Clementine Wilkins Winn. This tin-type photo was found in the photo album of Hattie Ora Wilkins Wiese, daughter of William Taylor Wilkins & Catharine Amanda Hough Wilkins.
