I am researching the surnames of Pierre, Lavorel, Veyrat, Hand, Holmes, Stapleton and Buckley. Most resided in California and ancestors came from France, Germany and Ireland. The Buckley, Stapleton, Holmes, Babcock and Hand members of the family tree apparently formed their inevitable connection in the great diverse city of San Francisco. Some were present in the early 1870s and survived the 1906 earthquake. The Lavorels and Pierres set up a French Laundry Business in Oakland, California around 1900 before part of the family moved to Santa Rosa to establish their roots.
