The Smith branch dates to the birth of Reuben Smith in 1779 presumably in Brimfield, MA., married Percis Hutchins of Vermont in 1803. Lived in Vermont and St. Lawrence County, New York. They had nine children. Information is sought regarding the ancestors of Reuben Smith (he may have been related in some way to Jedediah and Abel Smith of Eden VT).

The Brown branch dates to the birth of Peter Brown in 1810 in Lawrence Law, Edinburgh, Scotland. Married Jane Sommerville of Scotland in 1849. Died in Scotland in 1859. They had nine children. Information is sought regarding the ancestors of Peter Brown.
