1. ASA¹ NICHOLS died Abt. 1814 in the war of 1812 ¹. He married LORENA ?. She was born 1770, and died February 07, 1849 in Quincy, Branch Co., MI.

Notes for ASA NICHOLS:
Crown Point Bicentennial Issue of 1988, Spaulding's History of Crown Point, NY from 1800 to 1874 on page 5 states: "I now come to my earliest rememberance, which was the surveying of those lands. It may not be amiss at this period to mention the names of some of the first settlers, vix: israel Douglass, Stephen Spaulding, . . . Simon Hart, Abijah Nichols, Asa Nichols, Elder Lamson, Amos Lamson and others. "
Page 33 of the same book lists the Assessors Roll of Crown Point in 1818, (I list only the Nichols): Asa Nichols, Zadock Nichols, Amasa Nichols, Aaron Cedar Nichols, Asa Nichols 2d, Albe Nichols, John Nichols, Andrew Nichols, Aaron Nichols of Sugar Hill. and an Amos Cram.
Asa apparently died before Feb 21, 1814 as Lorena Cram and John Cram were signers for a loan of $200. Vis: " That if the above bounden John Cram and Lorena Cram late Lorena Nichols Administrators of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of Asa Nichols late of the Town of Crownpoint deceased, do make or cause to be made, a true and perfect inventory of all and sigular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased which have or shall come to the hands, possession, or knowledge of John Cram and Lorena Cram . . . .

Notes for LORENA ?:
Burried on the cemetery lot of her son Ansell in Quincy MI's Lakeview Cemetery. No record of her second Husband - John Cram can be found yet.
