George Alexander Stewart was my Grandfather. He lived in Madisonville, Kentucky. He was a very successful general contractor and built many schools, churches, and other buildings in the western Ky, southern In and Ill area. He married his second wife, Mary Virginia Lutz from the Popular Bluff, Mo. area in the early 1890s, date unknown. George's father was Ishmael M.P. Stewart, and I think came from the Knoxville, Chattanooga , TN area, sometime around the Civil War period. My father, David Alexander Stewart, was born on 12 Dec 1896. My father had one natural brother, Harry Stewart, who resided in Providence Ky.
He also had several older half sisters and brothers, ten I think, that resided around the western Ky area.

I am especially interested in any information on any Stewarts from the east Tenn area in the mid 1800s, and any Stewarts from the Madisonville Ky area from the mid 1850's on.

I will gladly share all information as I recieve it.
