Emma Winkler was only 5 when she migrated to USA from Germany, but one of her treasures that went from Germany to USA with her was her cup and saucer, a part of her mother's teaset. She married Nicolaus Heinrich Stehben on 18th July 1888, in Clinton, Iowa. She was 18. They had 6 children: Alma Marie, Clara Johanna, Maria Sophia, John, August Arnold and Harold Marvin. The teacup has been passed down and is currently protected by Emma's granddaughter, Jacqueline (Stehben) McAlpine.
