Since David Stehbens was a child he has been building model rockets and model aircraft. He first developed his interest through travelling in aircraft with his parents to Port Moresby, Manila, Hong Kong, London and Singapore. His skill was learnt at Space Pilots, a Christian boys club based at Rangeville Uniting Church in Toowoomba, Queensland and led by Trevor McIvor. Through the club he learnt to build, launch and design solid fuel rockets, and became familiar with space programs of USSR and USA. He began his career as an architectural draftsman and now is Operations Manager for Tamawood Homes & Dixon Homes in Brisbane, Queensland. David not only flies model planes but he also has a commercial pilot's licence. David's dream is to fly among the mountains and weather of Papua New Guinea.
