#1. Franz Hinrich Staeben was born 4 August 1832 in Wöhrden but having migrated to the USA, died in Davenport, Iowa. He married Catharina Lamp in Davenport and through their 9 children created the large Davenport Clan. He was the grandson of Frantz Hinrich Stebens. #2. Another Grandson of Frantz Hinrich Stebens, Claus Johann Stehbens who is therefore a 1st cousin of Franz Hinrich Staeben, migrated to Australia with his parents and siblings in 1865, when he was 20. He was the son of Detlef and Joanna Staeben. Claus Johann's descendants are many and live mostly in eastern Australia and New Zealand. #3. Bruce Percy Stehbens, born in Gympie, Australia in 1956 has the same head shape, the same hairline and same squint at the camera, and the same behavioural traits as evidenced by the facial hair. Bruce is Great Grandson of Claus Johann Stehbens. There can be no doubt about the genetic relationship of the men on these two branches of our tree. Even the 2 cousins, Franz and Claus never met in adult life, and they lived their adult lives on 2 different continents. Yet the recent reconnecting of the 2 clans brings these 3 photos together.
