Joe Clarke was a fettler in the Queensland Railways and for most of the time was stationed at Watalgan on the Main North Line north of Bundaberg, Queensland. He married Wilhelmine Carolina Stehbens, the daughter (only one to survive to adult life) of Johann & Ottilie Stehbens, the first Germanic settlers at Bundaberg, Queensland. Joe & "Caroline" were married in the Lutheran Church, Bundaberg in 1910 by Pastor C Schmidt. Their 3 children Ivy, Elsie and Gilbert married William Jensen, Frederick Honney & Amanda Schafer respectively. Their 70 descendants include the following surnames: JENSEN, Dickie, Regazzoli, Adams, Madden, McGarvey; HONNEY, Steindl, Baumgartner, Felsman, Clarke-Baumgartner & CLARKE.
