The Martin Stetar/Stetor Home Page

Researching Stetar/StetorMartin Stetar immigrated to the U.S. from Liesek, Slovakia in the early1900's. He had brothers John, Matthew, Thomas and sisters Veronica,and Mary. The U.S. family roots Started in Western Pa. and extended into Canada. There are relatively few Stetars and my research into that name traces them all back to Liesek Slovakia. John and Thomas went to Canada , Martin, Matthew and Mary Stayed in the Pittsburgh area of Dormont, Pa. While Veronica married and moved to Matua Ohio. There is also another branch of the Stetar Tree that settled in Fayette County Pa, also originating in Liesek Slovakia ,These Stetars are descendents of Michael Stetar October 1851to 1914. The relationship between The two branches is unknown as of today although they both originate in Liesek at about the same time. I have sent for the parish records of Liesek and should have the answere soon! Check back later.
