ILLIAM WASHINGTON PUGH:
William Washington Pugh was "Liberated to the Ministry" on 6/11/1892 at Antioch Baptist Church in southwest Barbour County. On 8/20/1898 charges were filed against W. W. Pugh as a minister of New Bethsaida Primitive Baptist Church for the "crime of indulging excessively in intoxicating drink" He was removed from the pulpit. Pugh was forgiven and membership restored 6/17/1899 after a proper apology was made to the congregation . He had even returned to the pulpit by 9/16/1899 on a part-time basis.

into the family? The Census Taker had poor handwriting, some of the
