| I am researching primarily the STEPHENS and CARROLL families. George STEPHENS, born in NC about 1822, is in the 1850 and 1860 census in Benton/Calhoun Co, Al. The CARROLLs traveled from Franklin Co, Ga, to Jackson Parish, La, in the 1850's. Both families ended up in East Texas between the 1850's and 1870's. I've reached that awful brick wall for George STEPHENS and John Wesley CARROLL, Sr, who was born in 1788 in Franklin Co, Ga, and died in 1852 in Campbell Co, Ga. I am trying to determine if one of my husband's STEPHENS married one of my CARROLLs in 1885 in Calhoun Co, Al. If this is true, we are distant cousins! If you find a mistake in my information, please let me know. I would love to share any information I have. Other families I am researching are the STAPPs and TULLYs. If you find we are distant cousins, let me know! |
