Notes for Daniel Martley: Daniel Martley was born 1861-1865. Lived in Dodge County, Nebraska. Daniel was listed in 1890-91 Dodge Co., NE farmers in Jamestown (at age 29), which I found on Rootsweb. Also listed was E. Martley (Edward?) Margaret Myrtle Mosher was born 1880. Lived in Indianola, Iowa. Her father was the Judge for Warren County. They were well- to-do, for turn of the Century Iowa. How Dan and Maggie ever met is a mystery. Following the wedding in 1900 they went to Nebraska. Daniel and Margaret were divorced and she returned to Iowa with five small children according to family story. The Mosher relatives' view was that Maggie married an older man who took her away from her privileged life in Iowa to the wilderness. A story from Waydene Edgerly had to do with infidelity on the part of Maggie, and that Dan left her. Daniel is listed on the 1920 census in Kimball City. Brule Co, South Dakota. (He is not there on the 1930 census). Harry Martley or Howard Martley said that they remembered going to Uncle Dan's Funeral, leaving out the details such as where and when.
