Hi! I am researching any and all descendants of Nicolas Gendron, who came to Québec from LaRochelle, France in about 1652. If you think you might be related, please feel free to contact me. I have thousands of Gendrons in my database and would be happy to share. I also have some information on unrelated Gendrons in my database, so even if you are not related, I may be able to put you in touch with someone else who is (don't laugh - it has happened several times already).
Currently, I am researching the Aubin dit Paradis side of my husband's tree. I am looking for the marriage of Jean-Baptiste Aubin (son of Jean-Baptiste and Geneviève Rival dit Bellerose), who married Marguerite Dupuis around 1827 in probably either Ste-Elisabeth (where he was born) or Berthier (where his parents were married), or nearby. I have traced Jean-Baptiste's family back to France but I am stuck at Marguerite. It is possible that she married under a "dit" name, but there are so many "dit" names for Dupuis that it's hard to know where to start (e.g. Couillard, Lagarenne, Jolicoeur, Beauregard, Gilbert, to name a few).
Anyway, happy ancestor hunting to all!
Sheila
