The Walton County, GA, story of the Still family begins with the arrival of Benjamin Still (1778-1846) from Edgefield, SC. Benjamin was a Baptist preacher who came to Georgia around 1822. Every year on the third Sunday of September some Stills gather for reunion at the Loganville, GA, American Legion picnic shelter. These Stills are primarily the descendents of William Bennett Still (1852-1944), the son of Martin Still (1817-1877), who was the son of Benjamin Still.I, Albert Still, am the son of Willie Everett Still, son of Charles Monroe Still, who was the son of William Bennet Still, and I am compiling the Still family history. Also, I am researching the family of William W. Brand (1756-1848), who was my Gr.Gr.Gr.Gr. Grandfather. ( My files also contain many Moore's.) |
