1. AUGUSTINE1 WARNER1 was born November 28, 1610 in Norfolk, England2, and died December 24, 1674 in Warner Hall, Virginia3,4,5. He married MARY MARCUS TOWNLEY6,7 Bef. 1641 in England7, daughter of LAWRENCE TOWNLEY and JENNET HALSTEAD. She was born May 13, 1614 in Stone Edge, Lancashire, England8,9, and died August 11, 1662 in Warner Hall, Virginia.

UGUSTINE WARNER:
Col. Warner came from Norwich, England in 1630.In 1642 he received a grant for 600 acres on the Severn River, called "Austin's Desire." In 1652 he patented 2500 acres in Cheescake (Chesiake) on the Pianiatank, taking it over from the Chiskiack Indians, the last tribe to live in Gloucester County. He served as a Burgess from 1652-56, and on the Council from 1659-74. He built Warner Hall on the Severn River in Gloucester County around 1635. He and Mary and their daughter Sarah and her husband Lawrence Townley (ancestors of Robert E. Lee) are buried in a cemetery open to the public at Warner Hall.
