Served in the CSA calvary (4th Alabama Calvery (C.S.A.) - Sept. 1861). Married to Prudee TRAWICK and Janie PARKER. Birth and death dates from my Mother's notes. When Caleb's wife died, Prudie TRAWICK, Calep moved into Ellenor HENDERSON's house, and Ellenor moved into the Trawick house near Indian Springs Church, where she and her son William Asa lived when she died. William Asa married his bride Josephine ROGERS, six months before his mother died. He buried his mother and first baby boy, Willie Othniel, in Indian Springs Cemetery. (cite: unknown)

Caleb Lindsey Grimes served with Co. A. 4th Ala. Cav. (Russell's) called Pope Walker Rangers. See note above under Charles Beard. Enlisted 9/1861 w/ Co. B, Forrest's Cav. (another name for 4th Ala. Cav.) commanded by Col. Jeffrey Forrest. Engaged at Ft. Donelson, TN. Murfreesboro, TN. and the Atlanta campaign. Captured (no place noted)
