He married MATHILDA OF FLANDERS, daughter of BALDWIN V, COUNT OF FLANDERS.

Born in the castle at Falaise William was the iligitimate son of his father.

Through my descent from Lady Isabella Neville and Richard Huddleston, Knt., I am a direct descendent of William the Conqueror. (Rosemary St.Leger-May, 1999)

William was buried in The Abbaye-Aux-Hommes, St. Etiennne - Caen. His last relicts are at the Abbey.
