Jacob later led a party of friends and family to Shenandoah Valley, Va in 1729. He applied for a land grant but was denied by the conscil of Va. By trickery Jacob applied to the King of England for his grant and was approved. Jacob began to sell off his aquired land for profit. Many good and bad thing have been said about Jacobs' trickery. His son Abraham was orphaned after Jacobs death in Mar 1741.
