| The Pennsylvania WAGEMAN Home Page: Continuing Research on the family of Johann-Philip Wageman and other PA Wagemans. For more information on the sons of Johann-Philip - Philip, John, Jacob, Peter, and Nicholas - please contact me. I am also working to connect the "Christian, William, John Wagaman family" to ours, their father possibly being Christian Martin or Casper Wageman (who may be brothers to Johann-Philip). Johann-Philip arrived at Philadelphia on the Ship Harle on Sept. 1, 1736. He married Susannah and they settled in Weisenberg Twp., then in Maxatawny Twp. (NOW Berks Cty., PA). Son Nicholas died as a young man, while sons Peter, John, Jacob and Philip went on to fight in the Revolutionary War. After the war, it is supposed that Jacob and wife Rebecca (?) settled in Franklin County PA, although I have not yet proven the connection yet - in progress :) ... John remained in Maxatawny Twp. with his wife, Ann Elizabeth Hall, until about 1796 or so, until they moved to Westmoreland County, PA. Philip and wife Anna Mary ("MARY") Greisher/Kreisher/Krouser remained in Maxatawny Twp. until 1790 at which time they moved to Bridgeport (now Hyndman), Bedford County, PA. Peter and wife Maria Barbara settled in Albany Twp., Berks County. Christian, William and John, three Wagaman brothers, moved to Berlin and Brother's Valley, Bedford County (NOW Somerset County) around 1755. They moved, together, in 1805 to Ohio. There is no documentation for the father of these brothers, although it may be that Christian Martin Wageman and wife Elizabeth, of Chester County (c. 1732) are the parents. I am still looking for documentation to prove this assumption, and also to prove Christian Martin, Casper (lived beside C.M. in Chester County in 1734) and Johann-Philip as brothers. More info to come... |
