Stoddart of Perthshire

The Stoddarts of Perthshire story begins in Abt.1637 and family research has taken us through the following towns within this district; Muthill, Fowlis Wester, Dunbarton, Rhynd, Dron, Dunbarney, Blackford, Tibbermore.

One of the line, Peter Stoddart, moved to Stenhousemuir in Stirling and raised a family there. From this family David Dundas Stoddart and his wife Jessie Sharp and their three children migrated to Australia. They sailed onboard the
" Eastern Monarch " arriving in Townsville, Queensland Australia in 1883

After a short stay of about three years the family moved south to Newcastle in New South Wales and it was there that the new Stoddart family took roots and their decendants are still remaining within the area to this day. ( 2006 ).
