I have traced my family back to Willaim Stoots who married in 1811. I located his marriage record in a county courthouse in southwest Virginia. He and his descendents lived near the New River on the Carrol and Wythe county borders. My branch moved to the Russell County area in and around Lebanon, VA. My grandfather moved to Swords Creek, VA where my father and uncle were born. After his death, my family moved to Richlands. VA where I was born. I researched estensively for a few years until I hit my deadend with William. I have not done anything much in several years. I went on-line and thought I would try some more.
