Parish Register for 1885, Augustana Lutheran Parish, Denver, Colorado
, (Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center, Augustana College, 639, 38th St., Rock Island, Illinois), The entry identifies "Ellen Strandquist," daughter of "Mrs Christina Strandquist," and gives her date and place of birth as "6/16/78, Denver, Colo." Since this information was given direct by Ellen's mother, this date is almost certainly the correct one, and not that given by Robert Farmer. (Note: the Register entry shows what appears to be the numeral 7 corrected to read 6 for the month.) Also, this source would appear to establish that "Ellen" was the legal name, with "Ella" being the familiar name.
