One source gives the date of marriage as 23 October 1873 (Book D, Page 35).[a] Another source relates the following biographical sketch:[b]

"Andrew L. Clinkinbeard, jeweler and watchmaker, was born in Clark County, Kentucky, in 1840, his father, John Clinkinbeard, who was born in Clark County, having died there in 1870, aged seventy-seven years. His mother was formerly Sally Strode, a Kentuckian by birth; she died in 1866. Young Andrew was brought up on a farm, receiving a common education. He was for many years engaged in the insurance business, in which he succeeded in building up a good calling, connecting himself at times with other agencies, and various branches of business. He came to Brownville, Salem County, Missouri, in 1874, and in 1877 had learned his trade there. In 1881 he moved to Windsor and started a fine jewelry store, and being an excellent workman is doing a good business. He married Miss Lilla C. Fagan, in October, 1873. Her parents were Thomas and Caroline (Rees) Fagan, both from Kentucky. Mr and Mrs C. have two children: Fagan and Andrew L. He has frequently held positions of trust and
responsibility, and discharged his duties satisfactorily to all. He belongs to the Christian Church and is a member of the A.O.U.W.

Notes for JOHN S. CLINKENBEARD:
At the 1860 U.S. Census, John and his family were living in Watson Postal District, Sangamon Co., Illinois. Living with the family was William Bean (b.1854, aged 6); this is of interest because a Peter Bean was one of the two witnesses to the Will of John's grandfather, William clinikenbeard (b.1761). Also living with them was H.G. Brant (or Bryant), prob a brother to Louise.[a]
One source identifies three children in addition to John W.[b] Another source also identifies three additional children: the infant born to Louise, and Sarah Jane, Caleb, and an infant born to Martha. He does not show Emma as born to Martha.[c] This last source states that John "Came to Buffalo Hart Grove in 1850 and to Illiopolis township [Illinois] in 1867."[c]
The LDS Master Index for 1840-1849 includes the following listing:

"Clinkinbeard, J.S., Washington Co., Oregon, Portland City, 1845"

Presumably, this was a territorial census. It is unknown whether that person was this John Clinkenbeard.
