NAME: In the Herschel Leon Faulkinbury's genealogy records, Pitman's name
is "Pittman Warner Faulkinbury". In 1834 South Carolina court
documents, which bears Pitman's signature, Pitman's signs his name,
Pitman W. Faulkinbury. Also, in Hazel's documents, Pitman's middle
name is Warner.

An older copy of a Descendency Chart has Pitman as Pitman Warren and
borne in Lancaster Co., South Carolina.

ANSON COUNTY:

Anson County, NC Deed Abstract Volume I Holcomb Gen. 975.673 V1 h.

Anson County was formed in 1748/1749 from Bladen County. At its formation
it included a vast terrority having its northern border the Virginia line
until the formation of Rowan County in 1753, having no western boundary until
the formation of Mecklenburg Co., 1 Feb 1762 and intermediate southern
boundary until the survey of South Carolina 24 Sep 1764. Before the
formation of Meclenberg Co. and the South Carolina border survey, Anson Co.
included all or part of the South Carolina counties of Marlboro,
Chesterfield, Lancaster, York, Chester, Cherokee, Union, Spartanburg,
Greenville, Laurens and Newberry. Vol I & II includes the period when
Anson County extended so far.

Because Anson County included Western N.C., some German signatures are found
in these deeds.

Copy of Letter from Henry Newton to William Jasper pertaining to the death of
the father, Pitman. (From Hazel Rutledge Records).

Infantry. Listed are W.J., G.F. and Henry N. Faulkinberry. Which
is most likely Pitman Warren Faulkinbury's sons, William Jasper,
George Folger and Henry Newton.

Above info provided by Jim "Lucky" William Faulkinbury.

Update: Lottie Stout sent after the 31st Mississippi Infantry
records of the above three Faulkinbury's. Information contained
the signatures of W.J. & Henry N. They spelt their names as:
William J. Faulkinbury and Henry N. Faulkinbury. The name for
G.F. was George F. Faulkinbury (last name was also spelt many ways).

It was noted that George F. Faulkinbery 'deserted while on march
from Jackson to Morton on July 16, 1863'. This was confirmed when
Lottie Stout was talking to George's great-grandson, Herschel Leon
Faulkinbury on Aug 3rd 1991, about George. Herschel mentioned that
his great-grandfather George Folger had deserted the south and went
to the north without knowing the information that Lottie had
received.

This confirmation has convinced Lottie that these three Faulkinbury's
were indeed brothers.
