"...by Frank Anderson, great-grandson." information given by
.....Caleb was reared in the Quaker faith, but on 8-18-1784, he
was disowned for mcd. He was re-instated in 1786 when his wife,
Lovey (Lorena Brothers or Louvina Brokks), rqcuc. on 5-17-1786.
The notation in the men's meeting con. (condemn) "Caleb, Jr., s
of Abel," 6-17-1786 for mou. This was done as proper procedure
before accepting a disowned member back into the fold. It is the
official way of indicating disapproval of anything contrary to
Quaker Discipline. On 7-17-1801, Lovey was relfc. of the meeting
for non-attendance, and on 12-19-1801, Caleb was disowned again.
Caleb and Louvina Trueblood emigrated to Indiana in 1812, or
earlier. From the large amount of correspondence involved, one
can be sure that : Caleb and Lovey bought land that was a part
of the Illinois Land Grant from John Grant Hacket, who had
bought it from the government at Vincennes, Indiana Territory,
in 1807. By 1813, Caleb and Lovey are found selling their land
in preparation for another move: Nov. 6, 1813, they sign a deed
of sale of land in Silver Creek Township, Clark Co., to William
B. Summer for $350- -land lying and known as the plot of the
Illinois Grant by number 28, Letter B, containing 100 acres.
Caleb Trueblood and his family moved on to Vigo Co., Indiana,
and history tells us about that:

" The first settlement in Riley twp. was made near south line in
1818 by Samuel, John, and
William Ray; John Pierce, Caleb Trueblood, and William Harris.
These people had so much trouble with the Indians, yet numerous
in that part of the country, that they were compelled to go away
for a more favorable time before returning. . . The official
list of residents in Vigo Co. 1818, includes Caleb Trueblood in
Lost Creek twp (west of the
Wabash R.) Caleb later returned to Riley twp."
