| I am a novice, looking into my family's roots for the first time. My father's family (Stokes) moved to Cuba around 1900 from Florida. The city indicated was Paisley Lake, but I see no such city listed in Florida. It is believed the Stokes family resided in the South - most likely Georgia, Florida, North Carolina or Virginia. My mother's family (Arnold) most likely came from Pennsylvania, Ohio or New York. This side also include names of Darrow, Chapman and Dafforn. I am especially interested in tracing the family history around the Civil War period. No such luck has been found at this time. |
