| THE STONE FAMILY OF BRUNSWICK COUNTY, VIRGINIA The following family history is NOT complete but is submitted so that the reader will have knowledge of the Descendants of Thomas Stone. It is my plan to add more information as it is found. This will likely contain some errors, although every effort has been made to document the contents. Thomas, Son of Richard & Ester Stone of London, England, came to this continent by ship in 1740 and settled near the Ordsburg area of northern Brunswick County, Virginia. Over the years, the Stone family members gave up farming and moved to surrounding counties and various states. My Uncle, Harry Richardson Stone and his wife, Lucille started this family search many years ago, and with the aid of the internet, I have been able to continue what they began. The people who read this family history hoping to find it filled with individuals who had great material wealth, or who were famous and perhaps performed great deeds will be disappointed. The Stone ancestry is filled with ordinary people who were hard working individuals. They toiled at their occupations, raised their families and worshipped their God. |
