I'm researching the Strickland and Powell side for our family, going back several generations on several lines.

The Strickland's go back through the surnames of JOHNSON, BYER, HANCOCK, GARRETT, FOSTER, MCLEAN, BINNIE and others.

The Powell surnames include ROSS, TUCKER, EMERY, COOKE, WHITFIELD, SHELDON, BANCROFT, DAVIDSON, and others.

I'm especially interested in finding more on the ROSS, COOKE, and WHITFIELD connections.

My grandfather, William I. Ross, was the son of James William Ross and Charlotte Elizabeth Cooke; grandson of John Ross (of Ireland)and Charlotte unknown (of Scotland); and John James Cooke and Louisa Affia Marsh. John Cooke's aunt was Louise Whitfield, wife of Andrew Carnegie. I'm very interested in finding any information on ancestors of any of these people.
