John Krigger of German parentage and settled in Pownal, VT. During the Revolutionary War he moved to Williamstown, Mass. and immediately erected the first gristmill at Sweet's Corners. A part of the same building is now the mill of D. J. Sweet. One set of the mill stones which he used are now in the Green River Mills at Williamstown and doing good service for the proprietor, C. S. Tower. (This was taken from The Gazetteer of Berkshire Co., 1885.)

The Williamstown deaths include a "John, farmer, June 3, 1842".

This John Krigger was one of seven brothers that came from Germany in the early days and settled in the New England States.
