Notes for Alta Louise Steenrod: Alta (Louise) Strickland, 69, a resident of Kansas City for 61 years, died Friday, October 13, 2006, at her home at the Lake of the Ozarks, where she resided for the last four years. Funeral services will be at noon on October 17, 2006, at the Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St., Kansas City, Mo. Interment will be in East Slope Memorial Gardens, Riverside, Mo. The family will receive friends the hour prior to services at the cathedral. Louise was born April 12, 1937, in Weatherby, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Mabel Cody Steenrod. She was employed for 19 years by a cleaning company and later at Northland Cathedral, until she retired and moved to the lake. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hubert (Bud) Strickland and sister Ila May Cook. She is survived by three sons, David Strickland, Lake of the Ozarks, Donnie Strickland and Dennis Strickland, both of Kansas City; daughter Linda Diann (Strickland) Leach, Lake of the Ozarks; three brothers, Albert Steenrod, Weatherby, Mo., Herbert D. Steenrod, Lake of the Ozarks, Jack Steenrod, Kansas City; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and many other friends and relatives. Arrangements by: D.W.
