Johannes Jonsson (aka Jonson) STROMQUIST was born on December 12, 1814, at Morlunda Parish, Kalmar Lan, Smoland Province, Sweden. In 1871, he immigrated from Sweden, with his wife, and their younger children. They landed in New York, NY on July 4, 1871. He died on June 10, 1892 at Fremont, KS, at the age of 77. He was buried at the Fremont Lutheran Church Cemetery, Fremont, McPherson County, KS. His wife was Christina Jonsdotter Anderson STROMQUIST. She was born on September 18, 1816, at the Branas Farm, Kristdala Parish, Kalmar Lan, Smoland, Sweden. They were married on August 02, 1835 at Kristdala, Kalmar, Smoland, Sweden. This union was blessed with nine children. She died on May 07, 1874 at New Gottland, McPherson County, KS, at the age of 57. She was buried at the Fremont Lutheran Church Cemetery, Fremont, McPherson County, KS. Their children are: 1. Christina Carolina STROMQUIST: Born: February 14, 1836 at Morlunda Parish, Smoland, Sweden; Died: Abt.. 1906; Her husband was Mr. BRAGG. 2 Anna Sophia STROMQUIST: Born: January 01, 1838 at Morlunda Parish, Kalmar, Smoland, Sweden; Immigrated: 1863 to Galesburg, IL; Died: May 10, 1887 at New Gottland, KS; Buried at the New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Gottland, McPherson County, KS. Her husband was John Peter GRANT: Born: November 02, 1837 at Morlunda, Smoland, Kalmar, Sweden; Married: 1859 at Sweden; Immigrated: 1863 to Galesburg, IL. 3. John "Jonas" Peter STROMQUIST: Born: August 31, 1840 at Morlunda, Kalmar, Smoland, Sweden: Died: June 06, 1909 at J. O. Stromquist Home, Lindsborg, KS; His wife was Mathilda ASP: Born: May 29, 1849 at Morlunda, Smoland, Sweden; Married: October 19, 1867 at Galesburg, Knox CO, IL; Died: February 05, 1909; at J. P. Stromquist Homestead, Fremont, KS. 4. Carl Johan STROMQUIST: Born: September 27, 1842 at Morlunda, Smoland, Sweden; Died: March 17, 1917. His wife was Johanna Mathilda Isaksson: Born: July 11, 1849 at Morlunda, Smoland, Sweden; Married: March 15, 1873; Died: February 01, 1928. This union was blessed with 10 children. 5. Nils August STROMQUIST: Born: February 26, 1845 at Morlunda Parish, Smoland Province, Sweden; Died: May 15, 1886. 6. Johanna Lovisa STROMQUIST: Born: September 26, 1847 at Morlunda, Smoland, Sweden: Died: November 18, 1887.She married a Mr. NELSON. 7. Gustaf Erik Oscar STROMQUIST: Born: April 15, 1850 at Morlunda, Smoland, Sweden; Died: March 01, 1889 at McPherson County, KS. Buried at the New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Gottland, McPherson County, KS. He married Mary C. STROMQUIST: Born: 1860. 8. Otto Alfred STROMQUIST: Born: September 18, 1852 at Lilla Bollo, Morlunda, Kalmar, Sweden; Residence: New Gottland, Kansas; Immigrated: landed in New York, NY, July 04, 1871; > Fremont, KS > New Gottland, KS: Died: September 10, 1929 at McPherson, KS. Buried at the New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Gottland, McPherson County, KS. His wife was Ida Sofia Jonson LINDSTROM: Born: August 07, 1857 at Morlunda, Kalmar, Sweden; Married: April 23, 1880 at the New Gottland Lutheran Church, New Gottland, KS; Residence: New Gottland, McPherson, Kansas; Immigrated: 1876; Died: February 11, 1940 at O. A. Stromquist Homestead, New Gottland, McPherson County, KS. Buried at the New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Gottland, McPherson County, KS.
