Sturgeon and Associated Families Home Page
I am researching the Sturgeon, Isenberg, Mann, Gaddis, Herron, Chambers and Gaugler families. The Sturgeon's and Isenberg's are from Barren County, Kentucky.I have traced the Sturgeon's to Samuel Sturgeon who settled in Pennsylvania about 1730 after coming to the U.S. from Ireland. The Isenberg's are descended from Nicholas Isenberg who lived in Fredrick Co. Maryland. He moved to Washington County, Tennessee about 1801.His brothers, Lawrence and John served on the American side during the Revolutionary War. The Mann, Gaddis and Herron families come from Taylor County, Kentucky. My grandfather was Oliver B. Mann and my grandmother was Lois Gaddis.I believe both families are of English extracton. We have found quite a bit of information on the Mann family but we still don't know much about the Gaddis Family. There are Herrons in both the Mann and Gaddis family line. On my wifes side we are researching the Chambers and Gaugler families. Tradition is that John Chambers came to the New World from Scotland in 1716.The Chambers family settled in Pennsylvania and the Shenandoah Valley of Verginia, later moving to Kentucky and Southern Indiana. I have no information on the Gaugler family other than my wife's grandfather was Donald Gaugler and her grandmother was Electa Fleck. They lived in St. Josheph County, Indiana. On our Sturgeon Family Genealogy Page we have Generation Reports for the Chambers, Herron, Isenberg, Mann and Sturgeon families. Any information about any of these families would be appreciated. I am also willing to share the information that I have. | Sturgeon and Associated Families Home Page Updated September 6, 2000 |
