| I am researching the following south-central Kentucky families: BELLAMY, Earliest ancestor I have is Benjamin, who married Dorothy Ham on January, 23, 1779, in Goochland County, VA. Information is from LDS records. I show them having two children, Benjamin, Jr., (1779-1853) who married Fanny Wade on February 5, 1813, in Bedford County, VA and Elizabeth, who was christened in St. James Northern Parish, Goochland Co., VA on October 20, 1781. Info from LDS records; this information collected by Ray Shaw of Washington, USA. We learned (from the 'Net) there is an earlier John B. Bellomy who difinitely ties into our Benjamin who came shortly after 1700 as an indentured servant. Would like any documentation on John B. and his fellow nine indentured servants who were brought into the Virginia Colony by by a Mrs. Dorothy Ham. BISHOP, Earliest ancestor Joseph, born about 1748, who had two sons, Johamma Augusta, born 1770 and Samuel, who was born in 1780. These three men were born in Germany,(no section of the county known) but were shown in the 1830 census of Hawkins County, TN. Part of their family later moved into Allen County, KY where they appeared in the 1850 Census. WHITLOW, Henry was born about 1791 in VA and died about 1855 in KY. He married Nancy ??? and I can determine he is our great-grandfather. Hope some one knows his family further back! JACKSON is a family name that cover a lot of people. My grandfather was Hardy D. Jackson. That is the only one I know! I do know that their are local folk who (old ones) who knew my grandfather as "THE Watkins Man", He was a J. R. Watkins representative for many years. I've done no further research on the Jackson's yet. He had one sister, Gertrude, who married Walter Mitchell, and baked excellent sugar cookies. They all lived in Edmonson County, KY. I am also looking for STURDIVANT, YORK, STUDLE (STUDLEY) AND RIGDON FAMILY INFORMATION. |
