Includes NotesNotes for Charlotte Mary Hierlihy:
Charlotte Mary Hierlihy was the daughter of Charlotte Taylor and Philip Hierlihy. Charlotte Mary had two Hierlihy sisters and two Hierlihy brothers. Charlotte Mary's mother, Charlotte Taylor, is known as the "MOTHER OF TABUSINTAC", having had three husbands, namely Capt. Robert John Blake of the Royal Navy; William Wishart; and Philip Hierlihy. She was given this "title" due to the fact that most families from the Tabusintac, New Brunswick area could trace their ancestors back to her as she had married several times.
Charlotte Taylor's husband, Capt. Robert Blake of the Royal Navy, is speculated to be "a great-great grandson of the famous Robert Blake (1598-1657) who was born in England. He was a member of a family of minor West Country gentry who came into prominence by his defence of Lyme and of Taunton in the Civil War. Appointed General-at-Sea in 1649, his blockade of Lisbon in 1650, operations against the Barbary corsairs (1655), victories over the Dutch (1652-53) and Spaniards (1655), and his pioneering of the tactics of the line ahead made him the greatest English Admiral before Nelson".* (CS)

There has also been some other interesting speculation over one of the daughters of Charlotte Taylor. Judith (Loggie) Purdy in a letter to the author, dated 6 October, 1997 relates the following regarding the marriage record of one Elizabeth Williams (daughter of Charlotte Taylor and the servant "Williams") (JP)

Includes NotesMarriage Notes for Charlotte Mary Hierlihy and Benjamin Gerrit Stymiest III:
There appears to be a discrepancy in the actual marriage date of Benjamin III and Charlotte as four of their children are recorded as being born between 1811 and 1816. If we are to assume that they married circa 1833 as suggested, Benjamin III would have been approximately 58 years, and Charlotte, 37 years of age. This date is therefore suspected to be an error. Another source indicates the marriage date as: September 24, 1857. It is speculated this date to be the approx. marriage date of Benjamin Fardon Stymiest & Phoebe Hyde; Benjamin & Charlotte's son.
