Mary Edwards (daughter of Reuben Edwards) was born 1775 in Essex, England, and died Aft. 1861 in New Brunswick. She married Neil McGraw on 30 June 1796 in Newcastle Parish, North. Co., NB.
Notes for Mary Edwards: "Mary's mother died when she was born and Col. Edwards resigned from the army and went to the East Indies as a trader. He was successful and when he returned, settled a sum of money in the bank for Mary. He left her again with a family named Ray and returned to the East Indies but was never heard from again.
Mary came to North America with the Rays and settled in Nashwaak. She worked for a Rev. Fraser caring for his sick wife, and later married Rev. Fraser when his first wife died. Rev. Fraser made a trip to Scotland but the ship was lost with all on board. Before he left for Scotland, he made his will leaving everything to Mary.
Widow Mary moved to the Miramichi when all the Loyalists moved north. Here she married Neil McGraw." (JW)
