William Johnston, Sr.96 was born Bet. 1802 - 1804 in Scotland, and died 05 November 1873. He married Agnes Beattie on Bef. 1828 in Scotland, daughter of John Beatties and Margaret Anderson.
Notes for William Johnston, Sr.: "1849...and one of my favourites....an original grant from Queen Victoria to my g-g-grfather, Wm. Johnston, lot # 34 . The description of the lot is priceless, and it goes as follows..." Beginning at a spruce tree standing in the southwest angle of lot # 23, Savoy's Brook, granted to Wm. Johnston, thence running by the magnet, north eighty nine degrees and 15 minutes west, 53 chains to a beech tree, thence south 45 minutes west, 19 chains to a post, thence south eighty nine degrees and 15 minutes east, 53 chains to a post and thence north 45 minutes east, 19 chains to the place of beginning, containing 95 acres more or less, distinguished as lot # 34.
