Researching Wash family of Hanover and Louisa County, Virginia. Some branches have used Walsh. Interested in information on Thomas Nathaniel Wash, (1842 - ?) father of my grandfather, Nelson Otha Wash (1879 - 1941). He served in the Civil War as a private in Company D, 44th Va Infantry, and had five wives. Served from 1861 to 1864 (spending time as a prisoner at Elmira, NY). There is a discrepancy in my grandfather's birthdate and his biological mother - records in Virginia are incomplete and any information would be greatly appreciated. Also researching Mayo family of Louisa and Fluvanna Counties, Virginia. Maternal Grandfather was Benjamin F(believe it's for Franklin) Mayo (1852 - ?) of Louisa County, Va and maternal grandmother was Bettie Jane Attkisson (1858 -?) Willing to exchange information |
