HI - My name is Tory. I live in Wisconsin and am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison (Go Badgers!!!) and Lakeland College.

The following are the names that I am researching in parentheses are the areas where the family is from and where they imigrated to. If you would like more information or think their might be a connection, please e-mail me at the address above.

My maternal family names are:
LAMBIE (Scotland to New York to Wisconsin);
MCINTYRE (Scotland to Wisconsin);
DENNY (Scotland to Wisconsin);
TAGGART (Ireland/Scotland to New York to Wisconsin); LICHTFUSS/LIGHTFUSS/LIGHTFOOT (Posen, Germany to Wisconsin); STEINBACH (Province Posen, Germany to Wisconsin);
VOSS (Germany - Province Posen? to Wisconsin); GUNDERSON/GUNDERSEN (Norway to Wisconsin); TOSTENSEN/THORSTENSON (Norway to Wisocnsin);
JOHNSON/JOHANSEN (Norway to Wisconsin);
TATROE - was possibly changed from DUCHARME when immigrated (France to New York to Wisconsin).
*Many of these families settled in either Outagamie or Waupaca County in Wisconsin.*

*I believe that all of the families originated in the Posen or Silesia area's of Germany/Prussia and immigrated to Wisconsin. Many of these families settled in Waushara or Waupaca County in Wisconsin. *

Also, I am researching BARTELT, RITTER, MAHNKE, EURICH, BELLAR, & KALTENBRUN families. (Prussia/Poland to Illinois/Wisconsin areas)

    This is a photo of Eli Pedersdatter Waalen wife of Johan Gunderson. This picture is taken next to the stove in the old Johnson farmhouse just south of Iola (Wisconsin), proably around 1900.
  • Karl "Charlie" SUEHS (19 KB)
    This is a picture of a young Karl "Charlie" Suehs. The picture was taken at Quimby Studio's in Manawa, Wisconsin.
  • Elias JOHNSON - Civil War photo (214 KB)
    The soldier on the right is Elias Johnson. We are not sure who the other soldier is, but it is possibly Erland Gunderson, Elias' brother -in-law or possibly a cousin. Elias joined the 42nd Wisconsin Infantry. This was probably taken right before they both left for the war, or right after they both returned home.

    This is a picture of a young Karl "Charlie" Suehs. My grandfather says that this he rarely saw his father without a mustache.

    This is a photo of Emil Glocke (b Jan. 2, 1894), Martha Thomack (b Mar. 15, 1895), and their son Melvin (b Mar. 28, 1919). The couple was married on April 18, 1917. This is one of the earliest photos of the couple. No wedding photo is available.

    This picture was taken in 1955 of Adeline "Lena" (Steingraber) Glocke. She was 92 years old.
  • William TAGGART and Christina LAMBIE wedding photo (77 KB)
    recently obtained a copy of this wedding photo from a Great-Aunt. She says that it is the wedding picture of William Harrison Taggart and Christina "Tiss" Ann Lambie. The couple's pictures are on the same card, but their pictures are separate. William H. and Tiss were married on Feb. 6, 1894 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gretzka - her sister and brother-in-law) in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.

    Private First Class Melvin "Tuck" Taggart. Melvin was killed in action in Korea on July 25, 1952. Melvin was drafted into the Army on Sept. 7, 1951 and went overseas in March 1952.

    This is an interior shot of the Crystal Cafe in Iola, Wisconsin. The Crystal Cafe was owned and operated by Crystal (Gunderson) Goli. The Cafe is still there, but it is no longer in the family. In the picture, Crystal and two employees are behind the counter, I think Crystal is in the middle.
