We can be justly proud of our eighth-greatgrandfather, Hugh COLE, who was a good friend of King Phillip. Because of his friendship, Phillip warned his family that their house was to be burned, and they all escaped by river to Portsmouth. They came back after the war and rebuilt.This is the third home Hugh built in Swansea, and it looks like this in 2001, after 320 years. He vcalled it "River-by".
