He ruled over Dalraida, Scotland for about 37 years. He was crowned by St. Columba, on the Isle of Iona, in 574. He declared the independence of his kingdom at a Councuil of Drumkreat, in Ireland, in 575. He was defeated by Aethelfirth, King of Bernicia, and died between 80 -808., (Source: "Ancestral Roots...", p. 144).
