Walton J. Sullivan of Scranton, PA

My paternal direct line includes O'BRIEN, CUMMINGS, SULLIVAN, GERRITY, WALTON, GORMAN, FEE; oringating in Ireland, England,Wales and settling in Pennsylvania, USA and onward. John CUMMINGS b circa 1820 m Ellen O'BRIEN in Ireland; raised their family in Rhymeny, Wales before coming to PA.John SULLIVAN m Julia SULLIVAN in Ireland. Two of his son Patrick b 1842 (my great grandfather)married Ellen CUMMINGS in Wales in 1863; John's other son Florence b 1845 married Ellen GLYNN. The SULLIVAN, CUMMINGS families settled in Old Forge, Minooka, Taylor areas of Scranton, PA and raised large families.The SHEA families in the same areas intermarried throughout these family lines. My grandfather Andrew SULLIVAN m Agnes GERRITY. My grandmother Agnes was the daughter of Anna WALTON and Anthony GERRITY. The WALTON line originally came from England to Ireland and thence to PA (the Hawley and Scranton areas) and New York (Kingston and New Amsterdam areas. It is also believed some of the WALTON, FEE line settled in Canada.My WALTON line came from England to Ireland and then to Canada and Pennsylvania. This WALTON line was primarily Catholics. I have not been able to connect with the Non-Catholic lines yet.The GERRITY line is believed to have originated in Westport, County Mayo. They settled in Wisconsin and Carbondale, Scranton,area. Some of the SULLIVAN associated families of SHIELDS, LYNCH, WEISS, GRIFFIN moved to Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.Also researching the following associated SHEA,STANTON,LAYDEN,FELTON,LAFFEY,TOMASETTI,SALERNO, GABRIEL,COSTELLO,CROWE,DAVIS, JENKINS, JENNINGS, COLEMAN, BLACK, STAFFORD.Old Forge, Minooka, Taylor,Scranton, Pittsburgh,Philadelphia,Hawley, Mt. Pleasant; NY-Kingston, New Amsterdam, Albany.I have been having success with my maternal COLEMAN lines. They first settled in the same areas of PA, Scranton, Honesdale, Hawley" Philadelphia, and then some went west to Montana. I have numerous COLEMAN lines in both my maternal and paternal lines and they all seemed to have come from the Ballina area of County Mayo. I am currently working with many of my COLEMAN relatives in the Foxford area of Co Mayo
