Currently we are researching the Porter, Brower, Gore, Finch, Bell, Summers, Campbell, Brown, Bean/Beane, Vickery and Roberts families.
The Porter Family I am researching came to Yalobusha County, MS in 1839. I have traced this family back to the 1780's to a David Porter who came to America from Ireland. He married Mary Thompson who came from Scotland. This family lived in North Carolina, Tennessee and Mississippi.

We have traced the Summers Family back to the 1850's to John Denton Summers who migrated from England to Maryland. He married Elizabeth Campbell. He moved from Alabama to Mississippi.

All of these families have lived in Yalobusha County in Mississippi at one time or another since the 1830's.
