This research has been an ongoing effort for some fifteen years by Carlton Sumner to bring together all of the relative of GGGF, Thomas Mills Sumner, GGF, Mills D. Sumner, GF, James Daniel Sumner, Father, Samuel L. Sumner.
It is believed that The Sumners originated in or around Southampton or Nanesmond county VA or just below the line in NC near Gates or Hertford County NC.
