| I've been dabbling in geneaological research on my family for several years, but I've never really focused as much attention on it as I should. I guess I'm not as hard-core as some, but I would definitely like to learn more about my ancestry so that I can share it with my family and pass it on to neices and nephews! My father's side of the family is Summerlin and my mother's side is Lowry...mom's side seems to be easier to follow back. For some reason the name Summerlin has been difficult for me...at least back beyond my father's father (he apparently was a man of mystery to those who knew him)! My paternal grandmother's maiden name was Norvell. My maternal grandmother's maiden name was Higgenbotham. The Summerlins in my immediate family are generally located in Virginia with some indication of moving there from North Carolina. The Lowrys seem to be from the same area or further north.
